Hi all, thought I'd post up my webomic that I've been working on.  It's basically a comic that parodies female celebrities and the "diva" tag that they have.  It stars Whitney and Mariah!  So far it's been really well recieved, so I thought I would spread the word!  Here's one of the comics, more can be found on the site www.divachronicles.com If you like them, feel free to submit your email address on the site to be added to the mailing list, or add my livejournal! :)

7:57 am - Album Update/Torino Winter Olympics Performance

I ran across this on MySpace... I don't know how true it is...
Music mogul Clive Davis has stepped up game for his number one girl Whitney Houston on her new album. Davis says "This album will be a milestone in R&B/Soul music" Davis adds "Whitney's voice is in better shape than ever and we are being very careful with this project, this album is different, she has a story to tell" Whitney will be moving to LA after the 1st to finish work on her upcoming album and sources say we should hear something new from Mrs.Houston mid-summer. Davis says "Everyone wants to be on this project, which is why it is taking us so long.Every producer has sent songs for Whitney to sing, they want her back on top, She's already been in the studio with R.Kelly, Jaimie Foxx, Alicia Keys, Missy Elliot and Jermaine Dupri within the last 3 months" After an very controversial season of Being Bobby Brown and a Christmas special of the show we are sure this album is what Houston needs to land back on top.

AND... according to the Torino website, Whitney will be performing on February 19, hopefully this will air on NBC.

Bobby Brown denies he's divorcing Whitney

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 01/19/2006
Despite ongoing tabloid reports to the contrary, Alpharetta pop star Bobby Brown said Wednesday that his 14-year marriage to Whitney Houston remains intact.

Syndicated talk show host Wendy Williams interviewed Brown in the studio at WBLS-FM in New York and asked him point blank about the state of his marriage. The New York Daily News had a gossip item this week about the union, which was a hot topic on some Atlanta radio stations Wednesday morning.

"It's not true," Brown said. "There's no divorce. We're together. I'm out working and she's home with the baby. I miss you, baby, where ever you are."

Brown said he expected Houston to fly in for his scheduled concert tonight in Connecticut.

Houston's camp, meanwhile, wasn't discussing the couple's future Wednesday. Said her Atlanta attorney Mark Trigg: "Ms. Houston doesn't wish to make a public statement at this time."

Last weekend, Brown joined his old New Edition bandmates on stage in Atlantic City during a Bell Biv DeVoe concert. Brown said Wednesday that a fully reunited New Edition would start an eight-week tour beginning in March.

Said Brown: "We're going to do about eight weeks and get a couple of fat checks."

During a segment featuring phone calls from WBLS listeners, Brown reiterated that both he and Houston, who have battled substance abuse, are "clean" currently. "I'm not on dope anymore. . . Coke? Totally gone. . . It got to the point that my daughters didn't talk to me for a while. When your kids don't talk to you, it hurts. I had to clean up, cold turkey. I'll have a drink every once in a while. . . I just wish people would leave us alone and let us get a few years of sobriety under our belts."

He confirmed that he and Houston's primary residence remains here but they maintain homes in New Jersey and Florida.

The pop star said he's also pursuing producing a second season of his reality series "Being Bobby Brown" for Bravo and debuting a second series "Brown and Son" that would feature his father, Pops, and son, Landon.

Whitney Houston to divorce - claims
Jan 18, 2006, 14:26 GMT

Whitney Houston and husband Bobby Brown are getting divorced, it has been claimed.

R&B singer Brown allegedly revealed the troubled pair are calling time on their tempestuous 14-year marriage while he was backstage at a concert.
The 36-year-old star - who in 2003 was accused of beating Whitney - was reportedly flirting with a group of women at a show by girl group SWV, in Connecticut, when one of them asked: 'What's up with your wife?'

Brown - who has a 12-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, with pop diva Whitney - reportedly replied: 'We ain't together no more. We're getting a divorce.'

Last month, the couple - who have both battled drug and alcohol addictions - were named the Tackiest Couple of 2005.

Stunning Whitney, 42, and Bobby topped the poll - which was conducted by America's Star magazine - because of their behaviour on their reality TV show 'Being Bobby Brown'.

“Houston, We Have a Problem”: Bobby Brown to Divorce Whitney?
Written by: David Pepose

RandB singer Bobby Brown might just be ending their infamously bad marriage in divorce court, sources say.

R&B singer Bobby Brown might just be ending their infamously bad marriage in divorce court, sources say. Brown has also been seen flirting with several ladies backstage at a concert at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. Both Brown and Houston are tabloid mainstays, with their respective battles with alcohol and drug addiction; most shocking, however, was the 2004 charge of misdemeanor assault, where Brown allegedly assaulted Houston in their Georgia home. The couple has a 12-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

Whitney Poised To Return To Studio

POSTED: 5:45 pm PDT May 16, 2005
UPDATED: 9:16 am PDT May 17, 2005

Access Hollywood has learned that embattled pop diva Whitney Houston will return to the studio in ten days under mentor Clive Davis's supervision.

Davis told Access that Whitney, 41, has left rehabilitation and will now complete the album she began earlier with the veteran music mogul.

Whitney entered a drug rehabilitation center in March. She was also hospitalized in March of 2004.

The singer, a multiple Grammy-winner, is best known for her rendition of "I Will Always Love You" and her role in the 1992 film "The Bodyguard."

Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown have been married since 1992 and have an 12-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

The couple live near Alpharetta, a suburb north of Atlanta.

9:11 am - Houston gets boost from Horne

Found this in a message board...

Houston gets boost from Horne
2005-03-28 16:50:18+01

Whitney Houston has been given the perfect incentive to overcome her drug troubles once and for all - singing legend Lena Horne wants The Bodyguard star to play her in an upcoming biopic.

Janet Jackson lost Horne's vote to play her when the pop superstar bared her breast at last year's Super Bowl, and now the Stormy Weather singer has given her blessing for troubled Houston to step into her shoes.

According to sources, Houston wrote a letter to Horne, asking her for permission to bring her life to the big screen in a planned biopic, and the singing legend agreed to the request just before the soul star checked into rehabilitation earlier this month for ongoing drug treatment.

8:29 am - Whitney And Alicia Keys To Record A Duet Together

(SkyNews)--Stunning singer Alicia Keys plans to get Whitney Houston back on top with a new track that she's penned for the soul star. The all-conquering Falling star has had a track planned with the singing diva for some time, as she told my mole: "We were supposed to hook up for the last album, after all we were both discovered by the same manager but the whole idea fell through."

She adds: "It's looking great as I have written a duet for her and she loves it! We plan to get it down and onto the next album. I drew on her for inspiration, she was the voice that made me want to become a musician and I'm overjoyed that she loves the track." All That I Can Give will show just what a fine performer Whitney is... and please those fans who've missed her - including Alicia.

New Whitney Houston Album on the Way, Says Davis...
Expect a new album from Whitney Houston by year's end, reports music icon and J Records honcho Clive Davis.

'We're going back into the studio either the last week of March or the first week of April,' says Davis, who's godfathered her career from the beginning. 'I'm extremely excited about being back with her. I've recorded with her every great album she did and we're a great team.' Davis says the album won't be a new direction for the singer who's been in the press more for her beleaguered marriage and substance abuse problems in the past few years than her music. 'It's just going to be great material. We're back and we're going to pick the best songs. It's going to be Whitney at her best. Her voice is soaring. Did you see her at the World Music Awards a few weeks ago where I got the Lifetime Achievement Award? She was dazzling! The camera panned to Celine Dion crying and Josh Groban crying and Courtney Love said 'My God, this is the best singer in the world.''

Meanwhile, Davis says of his roster, 'We feel great about what's going on with all of our new artists. I produced Kelly Clarkson, which is now over a million and it will certainly silence critics that the 'American Idol' winners can only have a souvenir album because this is her second and it's just huge.' He adds that in his extremely valued estimation, 'American Idol' phenom Fantasia 'is a true artist. Her album has just gone platinum.' Fantasia was this year's featured new artist this past weekend at Davis' legendary Pre-Grammy Party. Davis says each year he's forced to turn away more and more people clamoring to be at the hottest Grammy party in town, so he was delighted to have partnered with Sirius Satellite Radio and L'Oreal Paris to broadcast the event for the first time live on the Web on RealNetworks.

Today's Whitney News:

One of Whitney's biggest critcs, Roger Friedman meantioned what he has heard about Whitney's New Album:

Source: Fox411

Clive, who put Rod on his J Records when he started it in 2001, couldn't be happier.

"It's a great time and you have to know to enjoy it while it's happening," he said.

Alicia Keys has a hit with Usher and her own hit, Gavin DeGraw continues to grow in sales, Mario is Davis's latest breakthrough singer, Angie Stone has a terrific album out and sometime next year Davis will release a CD by Jamie Foxx — probably in time for Foxx's Oscar nomination for "Ray."

Then of course there's Whitney Houston, on her way back. Clive is excited that writers and producers — having seen Whitney's great performance in Las Vegas — are sending in material for her.

Bringing Whitney back after everything she's been through — there'd been nothing left for Davis to do except exhume Judy Garland. And, listen, don't put it past him!

Hopes for Whitney; Changes at a new Sony/BMG

Source: Me/J Records

I also spoke with someone involved with Kenny G's latest project at J Records and they said that their team is trying to make a fresh start with his album and their company (I am assuming the Sony/BMG Merger * See below) and to expect changes with albums released in the future. They say that they thank Clive Davis every day for the work he is currently doing with Whitney Houston's new album, Kenny's album and Rod Stewart's new album. And although my source was currently working on this project, they believe Whitney will make a big comeback in the comming year!

As to the delay in Arista.com's Website update, they said "Due to the mergers of Arista/RCA Records/J Records and now Sony-BMG we have been working steadily to catch up with every artist as much as possible."

*I will try my best to keep everyone updated with the news!

*Jenna, I will upload the World Music Awards audio tonight or tommorow!
